A couple of days ago another Meshcore repeater got deployed. Can you spot it?
It is not easy figuring out where exactly to place a Meshcore repeater. There are several goals when deploying such a repeater:
- pick a place where the solar panel can point south;
- pick a place where the antenna has line-of-sight to other existing Meshcore repeaters;
- pick a place where the antenna will be able to serve a new coverage area by line-of-sight;
- pick a place that is high enough off the ground that it will not be likely to get covered with snow next winter;
- pick a place that can be reached by the person doing the installing, without having to bring along a ladder;
- pick a place that is not shaded most of the day;
- pick a place that hopefully will be unlikely to get noticed by a would-be vandal.
Time will tell how well these goals were achieved for this particular Meshcore repeater.
