You need to be very careful when making use of RAK’s one-watt LoRa radio (blog page), seen at right. It is not easy to figure out whether the particular radio that you have in hand is an 868-MHz radio or a 915-MHz radio.

The part number “RAK13302” is the same regardless of whether the radio that you have in hand is the 868-MHz variant or the 915-MHz variant. The way to know which variant of the RAK13302 you have in hand is to use a magnifying glass to scrutinize two small sets of solder pads. For the radio seen at right, you can just barely make out a small component soldered to the “915” pads, which indicates that this is a 915-MHz radio.
